Rev. Asahel W. Paul
Paul, Rev. Asahel W., son of Benjamin and Maria (Tilyon) Paul, was born at North Norwich, NY, Aug. 9, 1839. In 1861 he married Janette L. Brookins, and eleven children bless their home. After a period of service in the army, Brother Paul began his ministry among the Free Methodists, receiveing license in 1868 and ordination in 1872. His labors were blessed of God to the conversion of many. In 1879 he withdrew from that body and, a year later, united with the Free Baptists, a council recognizing his ordination. He ministerd to churches of the Union YM (NY) until 1884, then Redfield, NY, and in May, 1866, entered upon the work at Greenbush, Wis., trusting in the Lord for future blessing.
