Record of Wisconsin Freewill Baptist Donors in Establishing Hillsdale College, Michigan, 1852-1853In 1852 and1853, Michigan's Rev. Ransom Dunn visited Freewill Baptist quarterly meetings in Wisconsin, Iowa's yearly meeting and both the quarterly and yearly meetings in Illinois to raise funds for the creation of a Freewill college at Hillsdale, Michigan. Donor records in the archives of Bentley Historical Library at the University of Michigan identify Dunn's "subscribers" by name, residence and amount pledged. Dunn's fundraising record sheets for Wisconsin include quarterly meetings in Fond du Lac, Marquette, Wolf River, Sauk County, Rock and Dane, Honey Creek and LaFayette.
